Network Printing Solutions for All of Your Printers

No matter what printer or network operating system you have, Telemechanics has a solution. Our high-performance Pony 100 provides the most extensive range of capabilities in the industry. And our Pony 100 gives you both 100baseTX and a 10baseT connectivity to meet your present and future networking needs.

Once installed by Telemechanics, these print servers will provide:

  • Support for more protocols and network operating systems than anyone
  • Compatibility with the HP JetDirect card and the JetAdmin and Web JetAdmin software
  • Superior Windows and browser-based management
  • Full Windows NT support

Please call us and speak to a technician about all of the features of these print servers.

Print From Anywhere
Telemechanics print servers allow users to print simultaneously from all of the major network operating systems, including NetWare ® (with full NDS capabilities), TCP/IP, AppleTalk ® , Windows TM NT, Windows 95/98 Peer-to-Peer, LAN Server TM /Warp Server TM , LAN Manager TM , DEC ® LAT ® /PATHWORKS ® , and Banyan ® VINES ® (the number of operating systems supported simultaneously depends on the model). They support more difficult protocols than any other server, including TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, NetBEUI, DLC/LLC, Appletalk, Direct Mode IPX/IP, LAT, and VINES IP. No modification is required to the users' application programs, and the printer appears as if it were directly connected to their computers.

Ultra Low-Cost and
Fits in a LaserJet ® GP

Measuring just 2.5 x 5 x 7.5 cm (1 x 2 x 3 inches), the Pony Print Server Plus is designed to fit on almost any printer - even the HP LaserJet 6P! It features a high speed parallel port that works in either standard Centronics or IEEE 1284 Bitronics compatible mode, and it plugs directly into the printer's parallel port for maximum compactness.

Easy to Manage
Since they are compatible with Hewlett-Packard's JetAdmin TM and Telemechanic's XAdmin TM Windows-based utilities, Telemechanics print servers are among the easiest print servers to configure and monitor. A remote console accessible via TELNET, NetWare, DEC NCP/NCI, or the serial port is available for more sophisticated diagnostics and configuration. Most Telemechanics print servers also support the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) MIB I and II for compatibility with most popular network management systems.

Highest Performance
The Pony 100 can handle burst data transfer rates in excess of 570,000 characters per second. Although actual throughput depends on a number of factors, this high-speed capability makes these print servers ideal for demanding applications like graphics.

Versatile Multiprotocol Ethernet Solutions
The Pony 100 supports one Centronics/Bitronics parallel port plus one serial port. The Pony 100 offers a combined 10baseT/100baseTX connector. It is available in two versions, one with a 10baseT UTP connector, and the other with a 10base2 thin Ethernet connector.

Unmatched Capabilities
Telemechanics print servers include capabilities for handling almost any type of printing application, many of which are not found on competing products. An especially powerful feature is the lpd-Plus virtual printer capability. This feature allows the printer to appear on the network as multiple virtual printers, each with it's own set of capabilities. It provides programmable setup/reset strings, plus the ability to print text jobs on PostScript-only printers, substitute character strings, and print binary AppleTalk jobs.

A unique Telemechanics capability is our PrintraNet TM software, which allows a Windows PC at one location to print jobs on a printer connected to a Telemechanics print server at a remote location using the Internet as the transport. Because it uses the Internet, the transmission costs are basically free. And unlike fax, you can send documents at the full resolution of the printer and in color!

The firmware on all Telemechanics external print servers is stored in flash memory, which means that it can be easily updated over the network when required. Unlike many other print servers, the firmware can be upgraded through NetWare, TCP/IP, DEC MOP, Banyan VINES, or the serial port. In addition, NetWare and VINES users can download multiple print servers simultaneously, thereby substantially shortening the upgrade procedure.
